Veterans Inn – Donate to Save a Life

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) plagues the majority of our soldiers and often leads to substance abuse and attempted suicide. A staggering 22 veterans commit suicide daily. This also contributes to the fact that one out of every four homeless men are veterans.

For years, this problem has been undertreated or ignored entirely. But we have a solution: Veterans Inn, a haven for our heroes that helps them get off the streets so they can start making permanent changes in their lives.

We’ve chosen a healing place with lots of natural beauty for our latest project: Lake City, Florida. Located just two hours south of Jacksonville, Lake City is home to beautiful spring-fed rivers and lakes. It also hosts visitors from across the country for its ever-popular Civil War re-enactments, as well as the annual Blueberry Festival. This city is well known for its place in American history, with over 150 years of incorporation. It is a rapidly growing city that offers many dining and shopping opportunities, along with the public transportation to access them.

We wanted to build a home and retreat center in this beautiful and quaint city in order to aid the large population of homeless veterans in the community. The site was formerly a low-budget motel, and we have taken it, updated it and transformed it into a group home. We offer rooms, meals, job-placement assistance and many other helpful tools to our residents.

Our goal with this new endeavor is to try to aide these individuals in recovery and rehabilitation. With your support, we can help our veterans and change these statistics. Make a donation.
